Specify the quadratic light attenuation factor. See the GL_QUADRATIC_ATTENUATION description on the OpenGL glLight manual page for details. See the Attenuation2 member of the D3DLIGHT9 argument to IDirect3DDevice9::SetLight method.The standard reset callback sets the LightAttenuation2[i] state to float(0).
