NAME

wip - interactive plotting package with command line interface

SYNOPSIS

DESCRIPTION

This manual page documents briefly the wip plotting package. This manual page was written for the Debian GNU/Linux distribution because the original program does not have a manual page.

Wip is a graphics software package available (at least) on Sun Workstations, VAX/VMS systems, Linux machines, Cray/UNICOS, and CONVEX systems. WIP is intended to be used to generate high quality graphics (using the PGPLOT graphics library) with a minimum of effort.

OPTIONS

There are, at present, two ways to create plots with wip: interactively or by reading plot command files from the command line. Command line plotting is an efficient way to spool plots to a printer or to load plot command files and macros when starting wip. Interactive plotting consists of typing the commands that generate the plot, one at a time, and seeing the results.

SEE ALSO

Documentation of the program can be found in the directory /usr/share/doc/wip. Example wip programs are in /usr/share/doc/wip/examples. The file /usr/share/doc/wip/.wipinit may be copied over to $HOME and further customized for your preference. Extensive documentation can be found at
